Wicklow Mountains
At the outskirts of Dublin we pick up our pretty new camper van from Bunkcampers. It’s a very comfortable Citroen Relay and sleeps four people. Enough for the two of us and our road bikes. ;-)
We have about a week before we have to be at the weeding close to Cork. The Wicklow Mountains are our first target on the way there. We do a bit of cycling starting from Rathdrum where the Hidden Valley Camp Site is located. The main attraction however is Glendalough, an early medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century. We can see remains of a church, a cemetery and other buildings as well as a fully intact round tower. This one is more than a thousand years old. Pretty cool.
