Baia di Chia

On our way to Chia we make a stop at our favorite supermarket in Pula to stock up and then continue. After a short while the road is blocked and we have to take a detour. First there is little traffic and it is no problem to drive on the small road. Then traffic picks up and we have to go slow. We try to figure out what this is all about and find there is a triathlon going on. When we join the main road again we see the last few cyclist who already look quite exhausted. No wonder as it is extremely windy today... The Area Camper Chia is still open so we check in.

Last years spot is not attractive as it is very windy and the lagoon has completely dried up... so we find a spot in the official camp. Not difficult as there are only a few other caravans. Despite the wind we go to the beach and are being blasted with sand. One of the bars is still open so we have a beer and after a while go back. We cook as long as there is still some daylight and have a very early dinner. We have picked the same ravioli with ricotta spinach filling than last year ;-) Michael gets some birthday calls and then we turn in also very early.

In the morning it is a bit cloudy and windy. Not as bad as yesterday but still... We have breakfast, pack and go to the beach for a swim. Then we have a shower and leave westbound along the coastal road.
